I had mixed feelings about my stay at Centurion Hotel Ueno. The location was super convenient, just a short walk from the JR station and surrounded by places to eat, but the room size was a dealbreaker for me. Although the staff was friendly and spoke English well, I had issues with room cleanliness and noise that affected my sleep quality.
Rooms
5.0
The room was incredibly small, barely fitting my luggage. The bathroom was even tinier, which was uncomfortable for someone like me who's over six feet tall. The decor was cute, and it had the basics covered, but the noise from the street made it hard to rest.
Service
6.0
I found the service to be helpful overall, as the staff was quite friendly. However, the check-in process felt unwelcoming due to additional charges that weren't clearly communicated when booking.
Location
7.0
The hotel is in a lively area close to multiple metro stations, which made getting around a breeze. However, it was also in a sleazy neighborhood, making some nights feel a bit uncomfortable.
Dining
5.0
Breakfast was not quite what I expected. I chose to pay extra for it, but when I checked in, they insisted it wasn't included in my stay.
Facilities
5.0
The hotel had decent amenities, providing useful toiletries and a few facilities, but I could've done without the ongoing roadwork outside that brought constant noise. Also, the Wi-Fi was weak, barely allowing me to connect.

My stay at Centurion Hotel Ueno had its ups and downs. The location was fantastic, offering easy access to several train stations, and I loved being near Ueno Park and all the local shopping. However, the room was smaller than I expected, making it tough to maneuver my suitcase. Overall, it was a clean and comfortable experience but could use some improvements.

My room was quite small, barely fitting my luggage. The space was limited, which made moving around a bit of a challenge.
Service

The staff were friendly and provided decent assistance. However, they handed me a list of taxi companies for my travel arrangements, which was a bit surprising.
Location
8.0
The location was ideal! I could easily reach Ueno Station and other subway lines, making it convenient for exploring Tokyo.
Dining
5.0
The breakfast included some toast and pastries, which were okay but lacked variety, as there were no refills offered.

While the hotel had good Wi-Fi and housekeeping services, the overall condition of some facilities felt a bit dated.

Centurion Hotel Ueno offers great value for money and is conveniently located near several subway stations and Ueno Park, which was perfect for my cherry blossom viewing. While the room was extremely small, barely accommodating my luggage, the bathroom was surprisingly good with a solid shower. Despite the cramped conditions, the overall experience remained positive due to the friendly staff and abundance of restaurants nearby.
Rooms
6.0
The room was incredibly tiny, not much bigger than the bed, and it felt cramped with my luggage around. The bathroom, while compact, had a very good shower.
Service
7.0
The staff were friendly and helpful, though they seemed to lack detailed knowledge about the area.
Location

Located within a vibrant district, I loved how close it was to the Narita Express station and a multitude of restaurants, plus it was just a brief walk to Akihabara.
Dining
9.0
I enjoyed access to many dining options nearby, including ramen and sushi that were open late, which was great for night owls like me.
Facilities

The hotel offers basic facilities, including free coffee in the lobby and access to nearby convenience stores, though the room cleanliness could have been better.

My stay at Centurion Hotel Ueno was quite pleasant overall. The new building offered clean rooms with a comfortable king-size bed, which was perfect for my family. However, the compact bathroom was a bit of a drawback, and I was disappointed that no drinking water was provided. The location was a highlight for me, being close to various train stations and local shops! 🚉

The King Double Non-Smoking room was cozy and had both a king-size bed and a small sofa bed. While the room was clean and new, I found the bathroom to be quite small, which was a bit inconvenient.
Service

The service was decent, although not all staff members spoke English fluently. I appreciated being able to leave my luggage before check-in and after check-out, making my travels a bit smoother.

The hotel is in a great location for exploring Tokyo. It’s near Okachimachi Station and Ueno Park, making getting around very easy. There were plenty of dining options and a supermarket next door, which was super convenient.

Breakfast was a nice surprise, offering both Japanese and Western options in a buffet style. However, I did notice that my daughters had a tough time finding something they liked, but I enjoyed the variety available.
Facilities

The hotel had useful facilities including coin-operated laundry, which came in handy during my stay. However, I was disappointed to find some amenities lacking, like drinking water.

My stay at Centurion Hotel Ueno was quite a mix. The location was fantastic, with easy access to Ueno Park and several subway lines, but the room was notably tiny, which made my experience a bit uncomfortable. The breakfast could also use some improvement in variety, though the overall helpfulness of the staff was a highlight.
Rooms
6.0
The room I had was extremely small, making it hard to move around comfortably. Even with just me there, it felt cramped, reminiscent of a cruise ship stateroom.
Service
7.0
Staff members were friendly and offered to hold my luggage both before check-in and after checkout. However, one clerk at check-in wasn't as pleasant, which was a bit off-putting.
Location

The location was unbeatable. Being close to various metro stations and surrounded by shops and restaurants was a real plus, making it easy to explore the area.
Dining
6.0
Breakfast was decent but lacked options, especially considering the expectations for a hotel in such a bustling area. I wished for more variety than just standard toast and pastries.
Facilities
7.0
The hotel provided essential amenities, but the non-smoking areas could be improved as I noticed cigarette odors in the lobby and restaurant.
